About ImmersiMap™
Our focus at ImmersiMap™ is on developing the best technologies for the collection of 360 degree video inside of buildings. Today, many companies collect 360 degree video outdoors by simply connecting a GPS receiver to their camera system and driving down streets. As video frames are recorded, their location is geo-tagged for easy import into viewing programs. GPS, however, does not work indoors so another system had to be devised. Our solution is the Digital Vacuum™. This is a backpack system designed specifically for the collection of indoor video and associated data.
The Digital Vacuum™ references the frames of video to the floor plan of the building during the collection process. Our viewing application displays the video routes in those floor plans and alows the user to navigate through the building, looking anywhere within the spherical video. Because the system is so portable, routes can be recorded on stairs, elevators and ladders. Video routes displayed, between user defined points, are fluid. The result, total situational awareness that is not available in any other solution.
